Reforming Theology! What are the challenges for church and society, which call for reformation today? Migrating Church! Christians are migrants in faith. How does the ecumenical pilgrimage shape our perspectives on migration issues and transcultural community? Transforming Society! Which impact does our theology have on building a peaceful and tolerant, multicultural and multireligious society in Europe?
Call for participation: You are an advanced theological student, you want to meet students from all over Europe and share your ideas. Come and discuss from May 19 to June 1, 2017 in Berlin!
is a fully ecumenical initiative, which CEC endorses and supports. The programme is an ecumenical encounter whereby we will work together on theological issues. Although the event will only take place in 2017. The deadline for nominations and applications is August 15th 2016. GETI’17 is now issuing invitations to advanced students of theology from all denominations and churches to meet for an ecumenical convention and to work together on theological issues in Berlin from 19 May - 1 June 2017.
Please apply until August 15th, 2016
In lectures, seminar groups, meditation and visits, the topic of Reforming Theology – Migrating Church – Transforming Society will be reflected upon. Our discussions will be theologically and ecumenically focused. We expect approximately 150 participants from Europe, up to a third of whom are visiting students with international backgrounds bringing a global perspective to the European context.
There is also the urgency, from a European perspective, to increase international networking in promoting theological education within the fellowship of churches of CEC. There is no future for the ecumenical movement in Europe if there is no commitment to ecumenical training.
Should you have any questions regarding the event, please contact the project coordinator Lars Roeser
